As this weekend draws near, the men and women of the Trayn’d Bandes are preparing for one of our favorite events that we participate in, the Janesville Renaissance Faire.    This weekend the beautiful Traxler Park in Janesville, WI comes to life with unique vendors, tons of entertainment and delicious food that transport you back, into a weekend of old world fun.

What makes the Janesville Renaissance Faire different than other faires?  Plain and simple, it gives back to the community.  All of it.   Every single one of the proceeds from the faire, go back to support local community groups and scholarships for deserving students, and over the past nine years, over $70,000 has gone back to the community . This is a fundraiser and entertainment venue that is unlike any other found in Janesville, which is what causes it to make even more of an impact on the people and city of Janesville.

 – The 2015 Janesville Renaissance Faire was able to give back –

$3,500 in scholarships plus donations from local businesses

578 lbs of food to ECHO

750 Tokens for Teens  – A program that gives bus tokens to students The program gives bus tokens to low-income students so they have transportation to and from school and school activities during the winter months.

200 suspended meals for people who are without homes in the Janesville area

PLUS

A donation to the C.H.O.I.C.E. program a Janesville School District Transition Program that assists students with disabilities after High School to transition into the community

A donation to 1649 – a School District of Janesville program that partners with the community to assist homeless teens in Janesville

That was last year alone!!!  Imagine the kind of impact that can be made again this year!  But without people, the faire cannot exist.    Last year, 3200 people walked through the gates of the Janesville Renaissance Faire.   Those 3200 people made a difference without even realizing that they were.

This weekend is also a great opportunity to see some of the performers, entertainers and vendors from the Bristol Renaissance Faire.   You can check out all that is going at the Janesville Renaissance Faire here.

So I put a challenge before you –  BE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE
